APL+Win APL+Win

APL+Win is an integrated development environment (IDE) for building enterprise applications designed for the Microsoft Win32 platform.

  • Stand alone application development environment
  • Includes a full featured interactive, immediate-mode session
  • Runtime applications may be distributed royalty-free to end users
  • Includes access to full Win32 API including forms and controls, methods, properties and events
  • Includes support for Colossal Component file system
  • Includes comprehensive TCP/IP support for sockets
  • Includes COM interface to control applications like Microsoft Excel from APL+Win and APL+Win from Microsoft Excel
  • Includes APLNext C# Script Engine (CSE) to access .Net directly from APL+Win
  • Includes  the APLNext Supervisor which enables Multi-core Processing of APL+Win Applications If your APL+Win application performs repeated in-memory processing of similar data elements, like those associated with:
    • time series
    • populations
    • stochastic processes
    • simulations
  • Multi-core processing can provide significant speed improvement.
Application systems that are calculation-intensive, and have sections of the processing algorithm that can be asynchronously executed, are best suited to take advantage of multi-core processing.

Installing the APLNext Supervisor on a computer with multiple processors or “cores” and configuring the APL+Win application system to use them means that programmer-designed operations associated with APL+Win functions can be executed concurrently.

The APLNext Supervisor allows you to setup a pool of APL+Win workspaces.  The call to execute functions on those workspaces is asynchronous, leveraging the benefit of multi-processor hardware.

APL2000 has extensive documentation to help programmers determine the benefits of re-configuring an existing APL+Win linearly-programmed application system into a non-linear, parallel processing application.
  • Includes full documentation and APL typography
  • Workspaces and files from older versions of APL+Win will be accessible in the current version.
